Subscription and Connection FAQs

First identify whether the issue is with your account, client, or target app, then check the relevant section. Answers are collapsed by default; select a question to expand it. If you’re having connection issues, keep the exact error message and avoid changing several settings at once.

Still setting up your first connection? Start with the beginner’s guide. To check an order or account status, open a support ticket in the user panel.

Account and Configuration Management

Account & Subscription

Check account status in the user panel and update server configurations in your client. Checking these separately can help avoid duplicate imports and misdiagnoses.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I protect my account details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Use a password you don’t use on other sites, and store your login details in a reputable password manager. Never post your account credentials or subscription link in public groups, or share sensitive information from login screenshots with strangers. Since no email address is required, don’t assume you can recover your account by email. Make sure your account details are stored safely before you start. If you can’t log in, check your input method, capitalization, and any spaces added when copying and pasting. If you still can’t sign in, use the help option shown in the user panel. We don’t promise recovery methods that haven’t been confirmed.

Where can I find my subscription link, and how do I update the server list?

Sign in to the user panel and open Account Overview to find subscription options. Then follow the import instructions for your client. If you’ve already imported the subscription, update it from the client’s subscription or configuration page instead of repeatedly adding the same configuration. After updating, make sure the active configuration is the one you just refreshed, then check the server list. If the update fails, first confirm that your local network can reach the user panel, your plan is active, and the copied content is complete. Subscription links contain access credentials. Don’t post them on public websites or include them in screenshots. If you need help, share the error message and client name, but not the full link.

Do I need to buy another plan to use VPNTake on a new computer or device?

VPNTake allows unlimited simultaneous devices, so you don’t need a different plan just because you’re switching devices. Supported platforms include Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. On the new device, get the appropriate client from the user panel, import your account subscription, and make sure you select a valid configuration and server. Unlimited devices doesn’t mean each device has a separate data allowance, so keep an eye on the remaining data shown in your account. Before giving away or retiring an old device, sign out, remove the subscription configuration, and clear any saved credentials. If you think your subscription has been exposed, check the panel for a reset option, then update the configuration on any devices still in use.

Why does my client say the subscription is unavailable when my account has an active plan?

First check your plan status, remaining data, and signed-in account in the user panel. Then check where the client’s configuration came from. Common causes include using a subscription from an old account, copying incomplete content, or failing to switch to the updated configuration. Don’t assume a subscription is active just because servers still appear in the client; the list may be saved locally from the last update. Once your account status is confirmed, use the current option in the panel to import or update the subscription again, and keep the exact error message. If it’s still unavailable, open a support ticket with your operating system, client name, update steps, and panel status. Hide your password, subscription link, and other access credentials in screenshots.

From Your Local Network to the App You’re Using

Connection Troubleshooting

First confirm your regular network works, then check whether the proxy is routing traffic for the app you want to use. If a browser and an app behave differently, check their rules and connection methods separately.

My client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check first?

A connected status usually means the client has established a connection; it doesn’t guarantee that the full request to a website has succeeded. Disconnect the proxy first and confirm your local network works. Then connect to a server and try several websites to see whether all access is failing or only one service is affected. Next, check whether the system proxy is enabled, the right configuration is selected, and other proxy or network-filtering tools are running at the same time. If your local network requires web-based authentication, complete it before connecting. Don’t change the server, rules, and DNS settings all at once, or it will be harder to find the cause. Change one thing at a time and note what happens before and after.

Why does the proxy work in my browser but not in a particular app?

Browsers and apps don’t always use the same network path. Some apps follow the system proxy, while others use their own connection methods, so a working browser doesn’t prove that an app is using the proxy too. Check whether the client’s rule mode matches the target app, and see if the app has its own proxy settings. If your client supports a virtual network adapter or similar traffic-routing feature, check its permissions and whether it’s enabled according to the client’s instructions. Then reopen the app. Company-managed devices may have network policies in place, so don’t change managed settings without authorization. Also assess the target service’s account, regional, and eligibility requirements separately from proxy issues.

I get a format error when importing my subscription. What should I do?

First make sure you copied the subscription content from the user panel, not a webpage URL, sharing-page URL, or text from a screenshot. Clients may accept different configuration formats, so use the import option in the panel that matches your client. Don’t edit parameters in the link. If your system doesn’t open the client automatically, find its import-from-link or add-subscription option and paste the complete content there. If you still get a format error, keep the exact message and provide the client name and operating system. Don’t submit your real subscription to an unknown online conversion site; anyone who gets its credentials may be able to access your account’s servers.

What information should I include in a support ticket about connection issues?

Open the ticket option in the user panel and describe what you’re seeing. Specific details are more useful than simply saying it doesn’t work. Include your operating system, client name, local network type, selected region, and server type. Say whether the problem occurs during import, when connecting, or only in a particular app after connecting. Add the approximate time, exact error message, and what happened after switching networks or servers. Logs may contain subscription credentials, account details, or sites you visited, so review and redact sensitive information before sending them. Don’t post full logs in public comments or send your account password. If only one platform is affected, say whether its website and app behave the same way.

Connection Paths and Performance

Speed & Servers

Start with the service you want to use, then compare connection paths. Speed tests, video playback, and AI requests have different destinations, so assess performance in the app you actually use.

My connection slows down during peak hours. How can I tell whether to switch servers or troubleshoot my local network?

Start by checking how widespread the slowdown is. If ordinary websites are still slow with the proxy off, check your Wi-Fi signal, active downloads, and whether other devices are using the network. If local access is fine and things slow down only after connecting, switch regions or server types in the same client and compare results on the same site. Keep the network environment and destination consistent; experiences at different times or on different services aren’t a reliable way to rank servers. Switching to another available server may help temporarily, but it doesn’t guarantee a particular speed. If the issue keeps happening around the same time, note the time, network conditions, and results of switching servers in a support ticket.

How do I choose between IEPL, relay, and direct connections?

Server types describe connection paths, not a speed ranking that applies to every network. IEPL uses a dedicated cross-border link, relay connections route traffic through an intermediate server, and direct connections connect straight to the destination server. Actual performance depends on your local carrier, destination, and current network conditions. Start with a region supported by the service you want to use, then compare how each connection type performs on your network. Don’t decide based only on geographic distance or the server name, and don’t assume any one type works with every platform. For more guidance, see the plan selection page. Check the user panel and the client’s updated list for currently available servers.

Which regions are covered, and how do I choose a server for AI tools or streaming?

VPNTake offers 100+ countries / 250+ servers. Coverage doesn’t mean every server can access every platform. AI tools and streaming services may also check your account region, their terms, and the network used to connect. Check which regions the platform supports, then try a server in an eligible region. If it works, keep your connection path consistent where possible. If the website loads but sign-in, playback, or requests fail, check your account status and the specific error separately instead of repeatedly refreshing your subscription. Streaming catalogs and AI service rules can change, so this page can’t guarantee ongoing access to any particular catalog or tool. Base your choice on the results you see at the time.

Why are videos or downloads still slow when a speed test looks good?

A speed-test server may be in a different region from the service you’re using or connect to a different content delivery network, so its results don’t necessarily reflect the speed of your target app. Video quality, file source, remote server load, and local Wi-Fi conditions can all affect performance. On the same server, check webpage loading, the target video, and the file source separately to see whether the issue is limited to one service. Then repeat the same checks on another server instead of comparing speed-test pages alone. Pause other high-bandwidth activity while testing. If only one source is slow, check that service’s status first. If several destinations are slow, continue troubleshooting your local network and connection type.

Pricing, Data, and Orders

Billing & Refunds

Monthly plans and data packages work differently. Before confirming an order, check the billing method, data allowance, and account status. If you have a payment question, check it against the original order.

How much do monthly plans and data packages cost, and which should I choose?

Monthly plans: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packages: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. Monthly plan data resets each month on the activation date. Data packages last until used and never expire. If you use the service regularly and prefer a monthly allowance, compare the monthly plans. If you use it less often, consider how data packages are billed. Monthly plan data doesn’t accumulate indefinitely, and data packages aren’t reissued each month. See the plans page for full pricing, and confirm the plan name, price, and billing method in the user panel before choosing.

When does monthly data reset, and how is a mid-cycle upgrade calculated?

Monthly plan data resets each month on the activation date. For a mid-cycle upgrade, the price difference is prorated for the remaining days. Check your account and plan details in the user panel to confirm the reset date; it isn’t necessarily the start of the calendar month. Before upgrading, check your current plan, remaining data, and the adjustment shown in the panel to make sure it suits your needs. Data packages last until used and never expire, so monthly plan reset rules don’t apply to them. If an order doesn’t show what you expected, keep the order page and account status and contact support through a ticket. Don’t create repeated orders to try to change the result. The panel shows the final calculation.

Which payment methods are supported, and what should I do if my plan doesn’t appear after payment?

Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Before paying, check the plan name and order total, then follow the instructions for the current order in the user panel. If the plan doesn’t appear after payment, check the order status and refresh Account Overview. Make sure you’re signed in to the account used to place the order. Don’t assume an order succeeded just because the payment page closed, and don’t pay again while the status is unclear. If the payment record and order status don’t match, open a ticket with the order ID, payment method, and a payment receipt with sensitive details redacted. Never share your payment password, wallet keys, or other access credentials. Available payment options are those shown in the panel at the time.

How do I request a refund, and what information do I need?

VPNTake offers a 7-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, review the refund policy and terms of service, then sign in to the user panel and open a ticket stating that you’d like a refund. Include the relevant order ID. If you’re also having connection issues, you can describe them to help with troubleshooting, but you don’t need to provide your full subscription link or account password. Make sure the order belongs to your account and keep the ticket for reference. Provide any additional information requested in the panel. Refund eligibility and processing follow the policies on the site; this page doesn’t promise a processing time or additional offers. If the status is unclear, continue in the original ticket to keep the details together.
